Travel/Accom/Food
The wedding ceremony starts at 12:30 so please arrive for 12:00.
So we realise Ilfracombe is in the middle of nowhere and not near any of you...sorry, but we hope that once you see the venue you will understand our choice. The area is beautiful with an awesome coastline so you could possibly enjoy a cheeky weekend break?
Dress
All that we ask is that, for the ceremony, serving personnel wear No 1 HD with medals. Swords, belts and gloves will be provided.
Travel
From Scotland
Flying is your best bet with regular flights from Edinburgh & Glasgow to Bristol for as little as £60 return. You can hire a car for around £25 per day, team up with others and this cost should be negligible. The drive is about 2 hrs from Bristol to Ilfracombe. Alternatively you can drive but set aside around 8 hrs.
From Yorkshire
Driving should take you around 5 hrs so you may be able to set off in the morning of the wedding if you wish.
From East Anglia
Driving should take you 5.5 hrs from Norwich so again you may be able to set off in the morning of the wedding if you wish
Accommodation
Being a popular holiday destination we suggest you book your accommodation ASAP; hotels are already getting booked up for the summer of 2017. There are lots of hotels in the town within walking distance to the venue. Good websites to use for hotels / BnB are: Booking.com & Trivago. We had good accommodation choices given when we searched 'tunnels beaches hotels'.
If you fancy a bit of an outdoors, camping holiday there are a few local campsites with caravans to hire and pitches for tents. The closest being 'Golden Coast Holiday Park' and 'Hele Valley holiday park'.
