Since August 22, 2023 Embassy started the issuance of the Ukrainian visas programmed by information-telecommunication system "Visa" that enables foreigners and stateless persons to register their visa application online and to schedule an appointment at the Ukrainian Consular office directly through the site http://visa.mfa.gov.ua

The above mentioned innovation aimed at creating transparent and accessible conditions for issuing visas and simplifying visa procedures.

Please note that "POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE" IS NOT REQUIRED for the purpose of proceeding VISA application by the Embassy of Ukraine.

All applicants, citizens or residents (only) of Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Malawi, Burundi, Uganda, South Sudan and Comoros Islands, Somalia should personally apply for Ukrainian visa 3 months before planning date of visit Ukraine at the Embassy of Ukraine in Nairobi without previous appointment in the order of queue in opening hours from Monday, Tuesday, Friday 10:00 – 12:00, Thursday 14:00-16:00


Summary of Short-term visa Requirements ( Applicable to this case)


  • Short-term visa is issued to foreign citizens and stateless persons if the duration of their stay in Ukraine does not exceed 90 days in a given 180 day period from the date of first entry.
  • Short-term visas can be single, double or multiple entries for six months or for the period of time indicated in the documents that constitute grounds for obtaining the visa, but not exceeding five years.
  • A short-term visa application should be accompanied by one of the following documents:
    • Standardized invitation of a person or entity issued by the regional body or division of the State Migration Service of Ukraine;
    • Certificate of the person of Ukrainian origin and his/her application along with the results of the interview with the Ukrainian diplomatic or consular staff and evidence for Ukrainian ethnical descent or Ukrainian origin of the foreign citizen or stateless person. The spouse and children of the Person of Ukrainian origin, if traveling and staying in Ukraine together, have to submit an application and provide documents confirming family relationships;
